  • Contractors: Ballymore
  • Acquired: June 2008
  • Completed: May 2010
  • Scheme cost: £25,557,962
Situated on Mastmaker Road on the Isle of Dogs, Mastmaker Court will create a high density, mixed tenure development. The scheme will feature 142 new homes, including 98 units for general needs rent and 44 units available on a shared ownership basis through the New Build HomeBuy scheme. The development aims to create a diverse and sustainable community, featuring three and four bed family houses as well as one and two bed apartments in the taller parts of the development. Units on higher floors will offer spectacular views of the London skyline.

A new pedestrian route will run through the development, connecting a number of new external public spaces including a children’s playground, communal gardens and a community allotment space. The development also features private terraces, roof gardens and a football pitch higher up in the building.

Mastmaker Court will exceed new requirements for renewable energy, featuring both a CHP heating system with solar hot water heating panels and ground bore heating/cooling. Together these sources produce 11% of the scheme’s energy requirements.
