Situated close to the City of London in the heart of Holborn EC1, Grays Inn Buildings consists of six blocks over 150 metres long and six storeys high.Through renovation and redevelopment the area has been completely transformed to provide 104 one, two, three and four bed units of affordable general needs accommodation.
The site was acquired by One Housing Group in March 2004 following an eight year agreement where the Group manages the properties for Camden Council, Grays Inn Buildings are set in a conservation area, meaning that much of the original exterior had to be retained and incorporated in to the design.
One of the most striking of these original features is the 19th century façade. Stunningly modern architecture is revealed behind the façade, including an elliptical courtyard block with curved white render walls to reflect maximum daylight to the rear of the buildings.
