Our People – One Housing Group Board

  • Anthony Mayer - chair, One Housing Group

    Anthony Mayer was appointed One Housing Group’s new Chairman and succeeded Baroness Julia Neuberger DBE in April 2012.

    Anthony graduated from Oxford with a Bachelor Arts (Hons) in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. He began his career in the Civil Service in 1967 based in the Department of the Environment. In 1985 he left the Civil Services to join merchant bankers N.M. Rothschild & Sons where he remained until 1991and then moved on to become Chief Executive of the Housing Corporation. He was appointed Interim Chief Executive of Transport for London when it came into existence in 2000 and led the setting up and running of the Greater London Authority as Chief Executive. From 2008 to March 2012, he was the Chairman of the Tenant Services Authority.

    He is currently Chairman of the London Pensions Fund Authority, along with his role as Chair for One Housing Group.

     

  • Ozay Ali

    Ozay has over 30 years of experience in social housing, and was previously CEO of Croydon Churches Housing Association and housing director at West Kent Housing Association.

    Since 2009, he has developed his own business as a consultant/interim manager working with social housing organisations, private companies and the voluntary sector. He specialises in governance, strategic advice, business improvement, development and partnership working.

    Ozay is a qualified project manager and has extensive leadership and coaching skills, having embedded management development programmes into several organisations.

    Ozay is passionate about service quality and customer involvement and he actively promotes the use of learning and team working within the group.

  • Terry Stacy - Island Homes Housing Association chair

    Terry has held a number of senior roles in various housing association boards and brings with him over 20 years of knowledge and experience at a senior level in the housing sector. Before becoming chair of Island Homes Terry was chair of Old Ford Housing Association and was a board member of the Circle Anglia Group. He is also a director of the government’s Housing Ombudsman Service and a tenant inspection advisor to the Audit Commission, and a member of the Homes and Communities Agency London Housing board.
  • Nigel Duerdoth

    Nigel has worked in the public, private, housing association and charity sectors. He has held a number of senior posts covering management, policy and service development and research.

    In the social housing sector, he has worked for local government, the Housing Corporation, the National Housing Federation and a large housing association. His main specialism is housing, care and support. More recently, Nigel has worked for the Mental Health Foundation and since 2003, has worked as a consultant in housing and social care. Currently he is director of Open Door, a voluntary organisation which provides psychotherapeutic support to young people.
  • Ann Lucas

    Ann is a qualified accountant with 25 years consultancy experience in both the public and private sectors. Her work has included value for money, organisational effectiveness and improvement, governance, and procurement. Since 2002, Ann has worked primarily with ALMOs including Hounslow, Lambeth, Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets and thus has extensive experience of decent homes, resident involvement and audit commission inspection. She is currently on the board of Homes for Islington, having previously been a board member of Circle 33 and chair of Old Ford Housing Association.
  • Vijay Sodiwala

    Vijay has a background in technology, media, telecommunications (TMT) and customer relationship management.  He has worked as an executive and/or consultant with leading TMT companies such as BSkyB, News International/News Corporation, Chime Communications, Tiscali and Video Networks. He has been involved in the launch of a number of high profile and innovative technology platform based consumer businesses including The Sun’s and BSkyB’s launch of ISP and telecommunications services.
    Since 2008, Vijay has been MD of Caucus, a digital research and engagement business which he co-founded with Chime Communications, a leading PR, corporate communications, advertising and research company. Vijay also serves as a non-executive for Ofsted and holds a BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and an MBA from London Business School.
  • Graeme Nixon

    Graeme is currently head of residential customer service for Eon. Previously he was senior director of customer service for Talk Talk Group. Graeme also has extensive experience of delivering customer service in many blue chip companies and has worked at director level at First Direct, Barclays and Orange. 
  • Carol Yarde

    Carol has lived on the Samuda estate for 23 years, starting her local government career as an old people's warden on the estate. She has 28 years experience of working in local government and currently heads up the adults and housing transformation programme.  She has extensive knowledge of managing external consultants and contracts. Her other skills lie in policy, service improvement, implementation of new process and working in political environments. As well as being the resident member on the group board, she is also a member of the Island Homes Housing Association board.
  • Nigel Pantling

    Commissioned into the Royal Artillery while at Durham University, Nigel served in the UK, Germany and on three Northern Ireland tours. Subsequently, at the Home Office, he dealt with social policy issues and was private secretary to the Home Secretary. Nigel moved to the City to join Schroders, and became head of corporate finance at Hambros. Since 1997 Nigel has been an independent adviser to chief executives of quoted companies across many industry sectors.  He has been chair or board member of a number of charities, and is currently chairman of The Arvon Foundation. Nigel lives in Highbury, north London.
  • Jayne McGivern

    An experienced CEO in the property industry. She is a specialist in the creation and delivery of high value mixed use and regeneration schemes of national importance. Her former roles include CEO (Europe) of Multiplex plc, and managing director of Anschutz Entertainment Group in London, during its acquisition and redevelopment for the O2 (formally the Millennium Dome). She currently runs her small private property investment vehicle.
  • Mick Sweeney

    With over 30 years experience in the housing sector, Mick was appointed group chief executive of One Housing Group in February 2007. Prior to that, he was CEO of Community Housing Association, having previously held the position of development director at CHA. Mick also has previous experience with a number of housing associations and the Housing Corporation.
  • Martin Heys

    With over 20 years experience as a finance director in both public and private sectors, and the last 12 in social housing, Martin joined One Housing Group in October 2009.
