Residents praised for dedication to estate

Lily Islam and Shabana Begum, residents on our Flower and Dean estate, have been recognised by the Metropolitan Police in Tower Hamlets for their hard work in tackling street prostitution in their local area.

Presented at a ceremony at The Tower of London, the Borough Commander’s Police Commendation is given every six months and can be awarded to serving officers or members of the public.

Shabana and Lily said: "We are delighted to have received such an honour, and we sincerely hope to continue working together with the council, Police and One Housing Group. Our true mission is to give the residents of Flower and Dean a better future. We believe our hard work and efforts have helped to drive this campaign and look forward to further improvements."

You can read more about Lily and Shabana's work, as well as about the action we've taken to tackle anti-social behaviour on their estate in the Flower and Dean newsletter.
